Dr Robert Patterson

Dr. Patterson was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He married his wife Tammy in 1989 and they have 6 grown children. After optometry school, Dr. Patterson served a tour in the U.S. Army, before moving to Chattanooga, TN. 

EDUCATION: 

Dr. Patterson graduated in 1989 from The Citadel in Charleston, SC with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  He then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1993. 

WORK HISTORY: 

Dr. Patterson served as an optometrist in the U.S. Army from 1993-1997.  Once he relocated to Chattanooga, TN in 1997 he purchased a private practice in Red Bank. Over the last 25 years Dr Patterson has worked in conjunction with several of the area’s premier ophthalmologist including a LASIK surgery center, corneal specialist office, and provided pre-op and post-op care at some of the leading ophthalmology practices in Chattanooga.  In addition, Dr. Patterson provides eye and vision care to several area nursing homes, allowing the underserved geriatric population to receive much-needed services. 

He joined the Carlson EyeCare Centers in 2024.

HOBBIES:

Spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, church activities, and all things Tennessee Volunteers!
